Dear SBISD families and staff,
A new Safety & Security Director

What a fast-moving and positive semester it’s been for safety and security in SBISD. We began the new school year with an important appointment. Randolph Adami, Northbrook High School’s former principal and a longtime SBISD employee, is the district’s new Safety and Security Director. He will work collaboratively with my office to make informed decisions regarding the alignment of resources for the safety of students and staff. He also will manage and be a liaison between departments related to school safety and response protocols.

Finally, he will provide direct assistance to campus administrators to assure that the safety of all students and staff is a priority as established by our Board of Trustees. Please join me in welcoming Director Adami!

SBISD Safety and Security Committee

Separately, the district’s 12-member Safety and Security Committee met on Nov. 14 to review and discuss state Senate Bill 11’s rules and local impact, our school safety audit, and basics such as committee functions. This group will meet three times a year, once each semester and also every summer. Their work will support and enhance the efforts of our 40 dedicated police officers and our commitment to the safety and security of Every Child.

Safety reminders

As we prepare for the upcoming holiday season, please review these simple yet essential safety reminders.

While many of these tips may feel like common sense, it’s easy to get caught up in celebrations, leaving you vulnerable.

Winter Festival

Please join us for our Winter Festival on Friday, Dec. 20, at the SBISD Police Department located at 9009 Ruland, Houston, Texas 77055. From pictures with Blue Santa, to face painting, games, and food for attendees, this event is one you don’t want to miss. And in the spirit of the holidays, why not donate a toy for a child in need as part of the SBISD Blue Santa annual toy drive? Drop off an unwrapped toy at our Ruland location between now and Dec. 13. Blue Santa will be out and about spreading holiday cheer, so look for toy donations on our Facebook page and the district website.
