Last fall, the SBISD Board of Trustees approved the first two phases of budget reductions and efficiencies to address the district’s $35 million budget gap for the 2024-25 school year. These included, but were not limited to, adjustments in Pre-K center boundaries and the closure of Panda Path School for Early Learning and Treasure Forest Elementary School. Trustees also approved pausing the rebuilding of the four remaining elementary schools under the district’s 2017 Bond Program.
NEW SCHOOL SEARCH TOOL
We are pleased to share a new SBISD school search tool that enables users to search by address to identify their current and 2024-25 zoned schools.

BOUNDARY SHIFTS
As part of the pausing of the bond program, SBISD administration conducted a district-wide boundary review based on an updated demographic study. The proposed boundary shifts, beginning with the 2025-26 school year, were presented at the March Board of Trustees Workshop on Monday, March 4, 2024, and approved by the Board of Trustees at its Regular Meeting on March 25, 2024.
The boundary review process also included the recommendation that Spring Shadows Elementary School not be rebuilt, with students rezoned to Terrace, Pine Shadows and Buffalo Creek elementary schools.
A summary of the approved boundary shifts for the 2025-26 school year is listed below.
Beginning May 1, 2024, the school search tool referenced above will include both the 2024-25 and the 2025-26 boundaries.
UNPAUSING THE BOND PROGRAM
At their April 5, 2024, Board Retreat, Trustees will hear district administration’s recommendation for unpausing the bond program. The link to the presentation will be available on the Board of Trustees website when the official agenda posts next week.
