Wilchester Men’s Club keeps on giving

One of SBEF’s most committed donors, Wilchester Men’s Club, recently contributed $20,000 to the Foundation’s scholarship fund. This is the second year the Club has made this generous commitment.

Parents and staff, encourage seniors to apply for these scholarships before February 25 (see article below).

Register today for Sporting Clay Tournament

Pull for SBEF and its mission to enhance education in SBISD at the seventh annual Sporting Clay Tournament. Co-chairs Doug Goodson and Rob Stewart are set to challenge more than 60 teams to win top prizes on Monday, February 11, at the Greater Houston Gun Club. Thank you to Lime Instruments, this year’s Green Head Mallard Sponsor.

Redneck Riviera Ungala was fun and festive

Amy and Chris Miller and Laurie and Will Davis welcomed more than 400 guests to the Redneck Riviera Ungala in November. Proceeds support Spring Branch ISD’s 35,000 students through district-wide and campus grants as well as scholarships. Generous party-goers donated more than $150,000 to the Foundation; an additional $7,000 was specifically earmarked for 2019 graduates during the Raise the Paddle for Scholarships portion of the evening. The festive evening included themed dinner stations, casino games, exotic auction items, Kendra Scott grab bags and dancing to Libby Koch and the Dealers.

Grant and scholarship applications soon due

Grants

Faculty, teachers and volunteers, dream big and apply for to SBEF for education-enhancing district and campus grants. Campus grants are up to $5,000; district grants may be larger. A committee of SBEF board members carefully reviews each application and awards grants to the most innovative. The committee is always impressed by creative project ideas that challenge students to excel. Grant applications are due by March 1, at 4 p.m. Recipients will be announced in May. Download here.

Scholarships

While many scholarships are academic- or needs-based, ours are based on each student’s holistic achievements: personal qualities, school and community involvement, family life and academics. We encourage each senior to apply. In May, we recognize and celebrate recipients at our Bright Stars of Spring Branch event. Scholarship applications are due by February 25, at 4 p.m. Only complete applications will be considered. Recipients will be contacted in mid-April. Download here.
