MARCH 2018

Doug Goodson and Wright Asphalt fielded two teams.

Thank you, donors!

Sporting Clay Tournament Co-chairs Doug Goodson and Rob Stewart hosted a record-breaking event on Feb. 12. More than 200 SBEF supporters fielded 51 teams at the Greater Houston Gun Club. In spite of the cold and blustery day, they enjoyed winning prizes and raising money for scholarships and grants. J. Carter Breed’s team, including Al Menconi, Tom Peden and Eric Nelson, won first prize on the A Course. Winners on the B Course were David Haynes, Tom Murphy and Holly Patton on Marshall Hines’ team.

Help us honor SBISD’s Bright Stars

We are eagerly planning one of our favorite events of the year. The annual Bright Stars of SBISD, Celebrating Academic Excellence honors the Teachers and Principals of the Year and SBEF scholarship recipients, all who personify our district’s high academic standards.

Each year, we recognize outstanding teachers from every school and an extraordinary principal, one chosen from an elementary and one from a secondary school. Many PTAs are purchasing tables to host their Principals or Teachers of the Year and their guests, but several schools do not have active PTAs. Click here if you will sponsor a table for honorees and their guests. The cost is $1500.

This event is not a fundraiser. Sponsorships simply help cover the cost of honoring SBISD’s Bright Stars. Thanks to our generous donors and the district’s exceptional faculty, the Foundation is pleased to be part of achieving our ultimate goal of excellent education for every student.
