                                                    APRIL 2019

Thank you, donors!

Memorial Hermann supports students across the district

Thank you to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center for a $50,000 donation to SBISD through SBEF. The donation includes sponsorships for all SBEF events as well as generous involvement in athletics programs at middle and high schools. Young athletes benefit from sideline trainers and physician coverage; sports physical events; and continuing education for coaches, trainers and athletes’ families (these gifts include up to $80,000 in in-kind donations). Significantly, MHMCMC donates eight scholarships to SBISD seniors interested in sports medicine!

Golfers set to enjoy April Classic
The 23rd annual SBEF Golf Classic is just days away. Co-chairs Scooter Hicks and Jay Sartain have a full slate of teams ready for the Sunday, April 14 event. Every golfer who gathers at the BlackHorse Golf Club in Cypress will be supporting Spring Branch ISD’s 35,000 students through education-enhancing grants and scholarships.

The tournament is a four-player team scramble and includes a raffle, mulligans, a sponsored drive for scholarships and contests for putting, longest drive and ball closest to the hole. Breakfast and lunch are included. Breakfast and registration begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start following at 9:30 a.m.

Sponsorship opportunities are available through Monday, April 8. Visit https://sbef.ejoinme.org/2019GolfTournament or call the SBEF office, 713.251.2381, for more information.

Helping Scooter and Jay this year are J. Carter Breed, George Kurisky, Warren Matthews, Roy Montalbano, Paul Moreton, Ted Nowak, Ron Nunley, Lisa Schwartz, Debbie Slack, Warren Sloan, Cece Thompson and Brooke Wiggins Kato.

Our Sporting Clay Tournament was a huge success

Doug Goodson and Rob Stewart co-chaired SBEF’s seventh annual Sporting Clay Tournament and welcomed 44 teams to the Greater Houston Gun Club. The event raised $57,158 for SBEF grants and scholarships. Participants vied for prizes as they enjoyed good meals and friendly competitions.

The Foundation offers a huge thank you to sponsors Lime Instruments, Wright Asphalt Products, J. Carter Breed Properties, Asphalt Transport, Dally + Associates, IBI Group Architects, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, Ace Fabricators, DivisionOne Construction, Gamma Construction Company, Stewart Title Houston, Swagelok, Wilchester Men’s Club, DBR Engineering Consultants, Durotech, PBK, Raba Kistner and Rummel Creek Pools.
