Animal Science

Animal Science

The Animal Science Program of Study focuses on the science, research, and business of animals and other living organisms. It teaches students how to apply biology and life science to real-world life processes of animals and wildfire, either in laboratories or in the field, which could include a veterinary office, a farm or ranch, or any outdoor area harboring animal life.

Veterinary Medicine
The Animal Science Veterinary Medicine Program at The Guthrie Center is designed to provide students an opportunity to explore and develop core skills needed to prepare for entry into the veterinary field.  Courses in the Veterinary Medicine program builds a student’s knowledge and skills through instruction, skills practice, and working hands-on with animals.  Students will prepare for the Veterinary Medical Applications certification which will help students attain entry level employment in a vet clinic, or prepare them for post-secondary courses in a veterinary science program.
